IN URGENT NEED OF SUPPORT
Becoming a foster carer can be very rewarding. If you are interested in becoming a carer, the first step is to attend an information evening. There you will learn the different types of foster care situations and about the support offered by Anglicare Victoria to its carers. Following the information session Anglicare Victoria provides a training course designed to give you the information you need to become a carer. Finally a staff member will meet with you and any other family members to complete the assessment process. You may then be approved as an accredited carer ready to support a child in your home. This process can occur over a three to six month time frame.

Anglicare's residential care programs provide accommodation and support for adolescents aged between 12 and 18 years. Programs target ‘at risk’ young people who are demonstrating behavioural problems such as persistent running away, self-harm, and/or substance abuse.
Residential units are staffed 24 hours per day, and provide a transition to longer-term accommodation.
