Helping parents

Parentzone

Parentzone gives support to parents through information and group work including:

  • a variety of parenting programs offered at no cost
  • a quarterly newsletter containing information about groups and events, support groups, family supports and professional development
  • a resource library of books, videos and articles about parenting
  • resources for professionals who offer parenting programs
  • training and consultancy for professionals in facilitating parent programs
  • information about other family support agencies.

Family camps

Family holidays are often beyond the financial means of the majority of Anglicare clients.

Family camps are co-ordinated from a number of centres to strengthen families in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. Camps are also designed to enable family members to develop communication and parenting skills.

Kids Biz out-of-school-hours child care

Kids Biz is an out-of-school-hours child care program designed to provide primary school age children with a safe and stimulating environment after school and during school holiday periods.

The service is available to families within Morwell, Traralgon and the surrounding area.

Funding from our Appeals allow Anglicare to assist low income families and families with children with a disability to access a child care facility. The funding support allows us to keep fees to a minimum or provide fee assistance in some cases, and enables us to provide the additional staff and activities which allow us to cater for children with a disability.
