Research themes & projects

Anglicare Victoria's research program has been structured according to four key themes:

1. Parenting with particular and complex needs

This area of research focuses on parents facing such complex social issues as financial difficulty, mental health disorders, homelessness, substance abuse, intellectual disability and family violence and looks at how professional support services can assist parents to deal with their adverse circumstances.

2. Resilience and recovery among children in care

This area of research looks at the systems and supports that can promote child wellbeing during out-of-home care.

3. Community building and belonging

This area of research focuses on the communities in which children and families live and specifically the building blocks of strong and inclusive communities capable of supporting children and their families.

4. Pressures on children 

This area of research aims to improve understanding of how our social values and investments, as well as economic and environmental issues affect the way that childhood is experienced.

5. External research involving Anglicare Victoria staff and/or clients

Anglicare Victoria supports a number of external research and evaluation projects. These are projects relevant to the work of Anglicare Victoria initiated by external researchers (Government departments, university-based academics and students).
