With 1700+ staff and volunteers at 45+ sites across the state, we support tens of thousands of Victorians annually. Operating online, at home, and in the community, our commitment, as stated by CEO Paul McDonald, is to be at the frontline for those who need us most.
MOCKINGBIRD FAMILY™
In the MOCKINGBIRD FAMILY™, foster carers are more than caregivers – they’re the pulse of a supportive community. They step into children’s lives, providing more than just a home; they spark a kindness chain, changing lives one child at a time.
We’ve created a unique foster care model that emulates an extended family network. It’s a space where carers share experiences, from footy games to birthday sleepovers, strengthening bonds in our MOCKINGBIRD FAMILY™ community.
We understand that carers need support, rest, and connection. We offer rejuvenating breaks and foster lasting relationships with the MOCKINGBIRD FAMILY™ constellation. This network is more than support; it’s a foundation for enriching relationships that benefit both carers and children.
Keep in Touch (KIT)
In the intricate path of adolescence, where every challenge looks large, Anglicare Victoria’s Keep in Touch (KIT) project emerges as a guiding light of hope and empathy. Recognising the urgency in youth well-being, KIT proactively reaches out, embodying our pledge to provide accessible mental health support for teens aged 14 to 18 in Central Victoria.
KIT redefines support, transcending the ordinary. It’s not just a service; it’s a mobile haven, extending care right to your doorstep. In moments when help seems distant, KIT eliminates these gaps, making mental health assistance as accessible as a walk outside or a causal visit to the town square. Our philosophy is straightforward yet impactful: we bring support to you, wherever you are.
More than just a mental health service, KIT offers a relaxed, game-rich, empathetic environment. It’s a space where teens can feel comfortable, share their experiences, and reconnect with their strengths within a nurturing setting. Thanks to Agnico Eagle’s generous support, we’ve touched the lives of over 12,500 teens, easing the weight of life’s challenges and guiding them back to their true selves.
KIT stands as more than just a program – it’s a commitment to wellness, a commitment to you. Meeting you where you are – physically, emotionally, and mentally – we provide a pathway to rediscover your joy and dreams.
Parental Leave Policy
At Anglicare Victoria, we understand the profound importance of parenthood in shaping not just families, but the very fabric of our communities. Reflecting this belief, our parental leave policy is designed with exceptional care and thoughtfulness, embodying our commitment to family values and the impactful journey of early parenting.
Offering eight weeks of paid, comprehensive parental leave, inclusive of superannuation, our policy is crafted to embrace every new parent. Whether you’re working full-time or part-time, we ensure you have the opportunity to be there for those unmissable early moments. It’s about granting you the time to build bonds with your child, to cherish their first smiles, and to establish a foundation of love and security.
Central to our approach is inclusivity. We recognise and honour all forms of families, acknowledging that each parenting experience is distinct. Our support during this invaluable period goes beyond the individual – it’s an investment in the well-being of our broader community, reinforcing a culture of compassion and strength.
Our parental leave policy is a reflection of Anglicare Victoria’s mission: to nurture and support not just the communities we work with, but also the families that form the backbone of our organisation. We celebrate your dual roles as a parent and a professional, honouring your commitment to your family just as we value your contributions to our work.
Out-of-Home Care (OoHC): Guiding Young Lives to Bright Futures
Over 10,300 children and young people in Victoria are in Out-of-Home Care (OoHC). OoHC is more than a service; it’s a commitment to safeguarding the most vulnerable among us, providing them with the safety, care, and support they deserve when they can’t live with their families.
At Anglicare Victoria, we understand that every child has a story unique as they are, with personal triumphs and challenges. Our commitment extends beyond providing a safe environment; it’s about nurturing their potential and fostering an environment where dreams aren’t just encouraged, but actively pursued. Whether finding a sense of belonging with a dedicated foster family, being embraced by the warm care of relatives, or receiving tailored support in a homely therapeutic setting, we focus on unlocking each child’s inherent strengths and possibilities. We believe in looking past the present, laying the groundwork for a future where each child can soar beyond their circumstances, shaping their destiny with courage and determination. In every step we take, we aim to equip these young people with the tools, support, and confidence they need to carve out their successful paths in life.
