About the event

You are invited to participate in training for Anglicare Victoria’s volunteer Friends program. The training is designed to provide a solid introduction to the issues, challenges and rewards associated with providing a volunteer service to children and young people in home-based care and the individuals caring for them.

The training is divided into two parts:

Part 1: will provide a great opportunity for you to learn more about the different volunteering opportunities available with Anglicare in the Eastern region, as well as what happens when children are loved but not safe, and how children respond when they don’t feel safe.

Part 2: will build upon the information covered in the first session and look at how to help children feel safe, how to promote positive behaviour, and teamwork within a community service setting.

Please note, attendance at both Part 1 and Part 2 is required to successfully complete the training and induction process.

You need to attend both sessions to be eligible to move onto the assessment stage.
