Can I leave my estate to charity?

Your Estate and Will – Bequests to Charity

A charitable bequest is a wonderful way for you to leave a lasting impact on your community and loved ones. Many choose to include a gift to charity, either a percentage of or fixed amount of their estate, in their will. You can contribute in a meaningful way by helping to fund various services and support for those in need.

Anglicare Victoria relies on the generous support of the community and is profoundly grateful for any contribution to our vision. Every gift is allocated directly to funding the services and support we provide families, children, and young people in need.

Can I leave my estate to charity?

When writing up yourWill you can choose to include a charitable gift with an organisation that is important to you. It is not expected for this gift to be a certain amount, as any contribution can make a difference. This goes directly into funding the services and support that your charity provides.

Making a bequest in your Will

Anglicare has a dedicated Gifts in Wills team that can provide you with all the support and resources you will need to write out your Will to include a bequest. This includes the appropriate wording and any details outlining the preferred service or category that interests you most.

If you have already written your Will you can speak to your solicitor about a Codicil to make an adjustment without a complete rewrite. Anglicare has a detailed Codicil Instruction Guide to help you make this amendment.
