Guide to Making a Bequest

As you write up your Will you may wish to contribute and mark your legacy to a charitable organisation that is close to your heart. Individuals are able to bequest a gift to a charity of their choice, either a percentage of assets or a fixed asset, that will be given to the organisation after passing and in accordance with your Will.

Making a bequest is a wonderful way to leave a lasting impact on your community, and know you are supporting an organisation creating necessary support and programs for those in need. Anglicare Victoria is grateful for any and all gifts from our community, and a donation to support our programs helps us to support and empower families, children and young people.

How to prepare your Will

Anglicare has a dedicated Gifts in Wills department that can walk you through each step, including the appropriate wording to ensure your assets are used in a way that matches your aspirations and wishes. Our Gifts in Wills team have a range of resources and can provide you with copies for you to read through.

For existing Wills you can speak to your solicitor about drafting a Codicil, which acts as an amendment to your Will without requiring a complete rewrite. Our team can provide you with a copy of our Codicil Instruction Guide if you wish.

Where your bequest goes

All bequests are used to support and fund the programs we offer families, children, and young people in need, with respects to your wishes. If you choose to have your assets given to a specific service or program, we will honour your aspirations. We ensure all gifts are used to help and support those in need.

Your Will makes a difference

Anglicare Victoria could not provide our services without the incredible support and contributions from our community. We work to empower and support families, young people, and children in need, and hope to continue delivering meaningful programs and services that make an impact. Your gift can make a significant difference for a Victorian’s life, and leaves a beautiful legacy that we are ever grateful for.

By bequeathing a gift to Anglicare Victoria you will help us to fund our programs and services for those in need. Programs that your gift will go towards include:

We appreciate any, and all contributions to our organisation, and honour all of your wishes when receiving your gift. You do not have to bequeath thousands of dollars to contribute to our organisation, and even a small bequest helps to positively impact families and individuals who experience hardship.
