Anglicare Victoria Appoints New Chairman

Anglicare Victoria is pleased to announce the appointment of the Hon Chris Pearce as Chairman of the Board on the retirement of Mr Damian Neylon.

Mr Pearce has been on the Board of Anglicare Victoria for seven years, during which time he has made an exceptional contribution. Formerly the Federal MP for Aston and Parliamentary Secretary, his appointment coincides with him leaving his position as Executive Director of Government and Not for Profit for Telstra Corporation.

Mr Pearce is Chairman of the Board at Global Voices and has served on the Board of the Victorian Funds Management Corporation.

As a demonstrated leader in the community and in the business sector, the organisation is pleased to welcome him into his new role.

Anglicare Victoria CEO Paul McDonald praised the contribution of Damian Neylon over the past six years.

“Damian Neylon has left a fantastic legacy,” Mr McDonald said.

“Since he came on board as Chairman in 2009, the organisation has grown to help nearly twice as many Victorians.

“The strength and condition of the organisation, which services Victoria’s most disadvantaged children, youth and families, is testament to Damian’s focused and determined stewardship,” he said.

Mr Pearce said that he was very proud to be appointed Chairman and looks forward to helping to build and grow Anglicare Victoria’s fantastic reputation as Victoria’s largest children youth and family welfare and out of home care provider.

Mr Pearce begins as Chairman in February.
