Mentoring: A small way to make a big difference.

Anglicare Victoria is currently on the lookout for male mentors to provide positive support and guidance for boys and young men as they navigate the difficult journey from adolescence to manhood as part of the Peaceful Warriors program.

The program, which has been running for the past 15 years, offers mentoring in a supported environment and opportunities for boys who are identified as being “at risk.” Through ongoing mentoring, the boys within the Peaceful Warriors program have the opportunity to make lasting friendships and gain the recognition and acceptance of their peers and the adult mentors.

The group programs involve great, high energy games and discussions sessions, as well as a three night camping experience. These activities are designed to give the group a chance to have fun, form friendships and most importantly explore and celebrate the great things about being a man.

Anglicare Victoria is looking for interested male mentors who may have two hours a week for only 12 weeks to spare for this important work.

Applicants must be over 18 years old and present a real commitment to making a difference in a young person’s life through mentoring. A comprehensive application process will occur, including passing a Working with Children check and Police check.
