Leaving a Bequest to Charity

Leaving a Bequest to Charity

A charitable bequest is a meaningful way for you to make a contribution to your community and help fund an organisation close to your heart. When leaving a bequest to charity you can communicate the specific wishes and aspirations you have, and how your assets will be appropriately distributed.

It is not necessary for you to leave thousands of dollars as a bequest in your Will. Any gift makes a difference, be it a percentage of your assets, a fixed amount or the residual of your estate.

Bequeathing to Anglicare Victoria

Anglicare Victoria honours all its donations and gifts, and uses charitable bequests to directly fund and support the essential programs we provide to families, children and young people. Your contribution can provide the resources we need support and empower families in need, through education, emergency relief and financial support.

How do I leave a bequest to charity?

We are ever grateful for your choice to bequest a gift to Anglicare, and can provide you with all the guidance and support you need to include this decision in your Will. Our dedicated Gifts in Wills team can discuss with you all of your options, suggest the right wording to express your wishes and have a range of resources to assist you in making your choice.

If you have an existing Will, you can speak to your solicitor or lawyer about a Codicil, which allows you to make an amendment, instead of rewriting the Will. We can provide you with our Codicil Instruction Guide to walk you through this process.

How your gift is used

We honour all gifts we receive by using them to directly fund the programs designed to empower, help and service families, children, and young people in need. If you are interested in a particular program or area, we respectfully allocate these assets to the appropriate department. Your input plays an invaluable role in speaking for, empowering and providing resources for those in need.

A meaningful contribution to your community

Anglicare Victoria is heavily reliant on financial support from communities to allow for our services and support for families, young people, and children in Victoria. We appreciate all that our community can contribute and use all funds to provide the meaningful and essential programs for those in need.

By contributing to Anglicare Victoria, you are helping us to fund our programs, including:

We are incredibly grateful for the contribution and support of our donators, volunteers and staff and hope to continue providing essential services for families, children and young people needing support.
