Anglicare Victoria’s St Luke’s region thanks Bendigo Bank and Tee Up For Kids for funding to help local kids in out-of-home care.

Bendigo Bank, through seven regional Victorian golf days, has raised a total of $40,000 for the Tee Up for Kids Foundation, including $18,000 for Anglicare Victoria’s St Luke’s Region to assist children in out-of-home care in regional Victoria.

This funding aims to provide direct educational benefits for local disadvantaged children, leading to improved numeracy and literacy, a happier school experience and better concentration levels and personal well-being.

Out of the funds raised, Anglicare Victoria in Kyneton will receive $4,000 from a golf day which was held at Bacchus Marsh Golf Club; Bendigo will receive $8,000 from a golf day held at Bendigo Golf Club and Echuca will receive $6,000 from a golf day held at Rich River Golf Club.

St Luke’s Anglicare regional director Francis Lynch said the funds would be a great benefit to regional youth.

“A good education is fundamental to ensuring children are provided with the best start in life,’’ he said.

“The support from Bendigo Bank and Tee Up For Kids will go a long way to ensure local children in out-of-home care have a better chance of succeeding with their schooling to achieve better futures.”

The cheque presentation was attended by St Luke’s Anglicare regional director Francis Lynch and Tee Up for Kids Director and recently retired Commissioner for Children and Young People Bernie Geary as well as representatives from Bendigo Bank.
