Join FoodBoost and help Anglicare Victoria take hunger off the table for vulnerable people this winter!

Anglicare Victoria’s FoodBoost campaign is running throughout May and June 2024. Our aim is to collect donations of 25,000 non-perishable food items before 30 June, to stock our emergency relief pantries.

Food is a basic human right, but last year almost one in four Australians experienced severe food insecurity. This means they ran out of food because they simply could not afford it, sometimes going entire days without eating.

Here are some other shocking statistics:

  • There has been a 17 per cent increase in the cost of food in the last 12 months – and that’s on top of the soaring prices of gas and electricity, petrol, rents, and interest rates
  • Since 2019, demand for our emergency relief services has tripled.
  • 40 per cent of the people coming to us for help this year have never needed assistance before.

When life gets tough, Anglicare Victoria is here to help. We welcome families and young people seeking emergency supplies and emotional support in times of hardship, no matter what they’re going through. Our 18 emergency relief centres across Victoria provide a range of immediate assistance, including fresh fruit and vegetables and essential pantry items to ensure vulnerable people can put food on the table.

Get involved today!

Schools, parishes, and corporate groups can get involved in several ways:

  • Hold your own food drive! Ask for donations of canned foods and non-perishable items such as pasta, rice, and long-life milk. Ask us for a list of the most-needed items.
  • Make it fun! Hold a bake sale, sausage sizzle, pyjama day or sleepout to raise funds for our emergency relief sites.
  • Donate cash or supermarket gift cards! We can use these to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables for families in need.

We can provide loads of handy FoodBoost resources to help you plan and run your event, such as posters and lists of suggested food items. We also have heaps of other great ideas for fun and engaging fundraising options suitable for people of all ages.
