Christmas may be all wrapped up, but we are still celebrating the wonderful support we received from you, our AV Family. We never cease to be amazed at the generosity of the Victorian community and it reminds us that through all the ups and downs of the last few years, that the spirit of giving is alive and well. We had several appeals throughout the festive season and want to share the positive impact they have had on those who rely on Anglicare Victoria for support.
Our Christmas Toy Appeal was a huge success, with almost 1000 individuals, businesses, community groups and schools, providing over $170,000 of inkind donations of toys and more than a whopping $183,000 in cash was raised through the FOX FM Doing it for the Kids, with Fifi, Fev and Nick. Combined, this enabled us to provide presents for kids, from toddlers to teens, to open on Christmas morning.
Our Mockingbird Family foster care model continued to grow, allowing us to support more foster carers and the children they’ve welcome into their homes. Through November and December, we raised enough money to fund two new constellations, so we can extend this invaluable support to more of our incredible foster carers.
Donations to our Christmas Appeal helped to cushion the impact of isolation, disconnection and improve the lives of so many families. Foster carers and kids, mums experiencing family violence or the emergency relief provided to people doing it tough.
We thank you for your continued support throughout the year and want to express how important every bit of assistance we receive is to us. Whether an individual person donates $5, or a large organisation sends boxes of gifts for the kids, it really makes a difference.
We are excited to do it all over again in 2023.
