Our Commitment to Children and Young People

Prevent, Protect and Empower are the three guiding pillars for Anglicare Victoria and ensure an organisational culture that strives to continually improve and strengthen child safety to provide better futures for children and young people.

As a child safe organisation Anglicare Victoria is committed to supporting and providing environments where children and young people are respected, their voices are heard, their rights are upheld and their safety is paramount.

The participation and empowerment of children and young people is imperative. Engaging children and listening to their views is crucial for ensuring they are involved in making decisions that impact their futures. Upholding their rights and valuing the contributions they make promotes their inclusion and safety.

Anglicare Victoria has no tolerance for child abuse, mistreatment or neglect. All allegations and safety concerns will be treated seriously, reported appropriately and investigated thoroughly. We will support all persons to share their concerns for the safety and wellbeing of a child and respond to ensure concerns are reported

Anglicare Victoria acknowledges the wisdom and strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and commits to working with them to uphold the safety and wellbeing of their children.

The diversity of children is celebrated by Anglicare Victoria and we work to ensure all children regardless of gender, culture, sexuality and ability have the same opportunities for development and support to achieve their future potential.

Anglicare Victoria commits to embedding the Victorian Child Safe Standards and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations across the organisation. Investing in our people and our systems, through supervision, ongoing learning and development, enables us to promote and entrench a child safe culture.
